1st Alarm Security, a division of Source Security and Communications, Honesdale, Pa, has announced the acquisition of Sound-Off Security, Inc., a long-time security provider in the region. Sound-Off was based in Tafton, Pa. and was founded in 1975. The acquisition became effective on May 20, 2008, after an assets-based purchase agreement was reached between 1st Alarm Security and the principles of Sound-Off Security.

“This acquisition further strengthens 1st Alarm Security’s footprint in northeastern Pennsylvania,” stated Matthew Bowman, company co-owner and President. “1st Alarm’s growth has been phenomenal over the course of the past few years, and this acquisition only adds to that end,” added Bowman.

Bowman, along with 1st Alarm co-owners, Vice-President Charles Rossbach and Treasurer Jeffrey Reynolds, brokered the deal that adds several hundred new customers to 1st Alarm Security’s already growing base.

“We looked at the Sound-Off purchase very carefully before we went ahead with the acquisition,” stated Reynolds. “We had to be certain we could provide the same excellent service our current customers expect and receive before we went ahead with the deal,” Reynolds added.

“Sound-Off customers can expect an elevated level of customer service and innovative technology 1st Alarm has been providing for years,” added Rossbach.

1st Alarm Security is one of the region’s largest providers of security and fire systems, as well as closed circuit television surveillance, data, phone and sound systems, access control and a wide array of other services.

Sound-Off Security was the sole security and fire protection provider to all of Woodloch Springs and Woodloch Pines. The 1st Alarm acquisition adds all of the residential, resort and rental properties of Woodloch into the fold.

Sound-Off Security customers will be receiving an informational packet via U.S. mail in the very near future from 1st Alarm Security. This welcome letter will include contact information for 1st Alarm Security.
